Why Feeling Off Isn’t Just Part of Getting Older

This came up on a recent Wellness Wednesday.

A woman shared that she had been feeling off for a while.
Not terrible. Just not like herself.

Tired when she woke up.
Brain fog.
Energy drops in the middle of the day.

She had it checked. Everything looked fine.

So she figured this must just be getting older.

I get why she thought that.

We hear it all the time.
Less energy. Slower recovery. Not as sharp as before.

Like, it is just part of the deal.

But this is the part that did not sit right with me.

When did we start calling this normal?

There is a difference between aging and your body asking for support.

Yes, the body changes over time. That is natural.

But waking up tired every day, feeling foggy, running on empty,
That is not something you just have to accept.

That is information.

Your body is always communicating.
We just do not always know how to read it.

What I have seen, over and over again, is this.

Everything can look fine on paper.
But the person does not feel fine.

That is where people get stuck.

Because if nothing shows up, you start thinking it is you.
Or that it is just age.

But there is usually more going on underneath.

At the cellular level, your body is doing a lot behind the scenes.

Your cells are responsible for producing energy.
They also deal with the natural wear and tear that builds up over time.

When those systems are not working as well as they used to, you feel it.

Not in a dramatic way.

But in small things that add up.

Low energy
Brain fog
That feeling of being slightly off

This is where I see a shift happen.

Most people try to push through it.

Tired. More coffee.
Foggy. Keep going.
Not feeling great. Ignore it and move on.

I have done that too.

But pushing through is not the same as supporting the body.

A different question starts to open things up.

Not what is wrong with me.

But what is my body asking for right now?

That changes how you look at everything.

This is what led me to learn more about activation.

Not adding more and more from the outside.

But supporting the body so it can do what it already knows how to do.

Because your body is not starting from zero.

It already has systems in place to:

produce energy
handle stress at a cellular level
repair and maintain itself

The question is whether those systems are being supported.

The more I learn, the more I question what we have accepted as just aging.

Not from fear.

Just for curiosity.

Because the body is more capable than we have been taught.

That woman started asking different questions.

She stopped brushing it off as age.
She started paying attention.

And that opened a door for her.

One she did not even know was there before.

If this feels familiar,

If you have ever thought, I just do not feel like myself anymore,
But everything looks fine,

There may be more going on than you have been told.

If you are curious, I am always happy to share more.

No pressure. Just information.
